Discover how to measure for a custom leather cover for your Traditional Catholic Missals, Breviaries, and Douey-Rheims Bibles. Ensure a perfect fit!
To measure for a custom cover you will need: 1.) A clear table
2.) A tape measure (a fabric one is ideal to be able to wrap around the book)
3.) A photo taking device
We need you to take a photo of your tape measure near your book or Missal so that we can reference the specific measurements down to the last millimeter. This ensures a custom fit.
FIRST MEASUREMENT- Width Measurement
Place tape measure at the left spine edge of your closed book. Stretch tape measure to the right and photograph finished dimension at the cover edge.
SECOND MEASUREMENT- Height Measurement
Place tape measure at top of the closed books front cover edge. Stretch the tape measure to the bottom edge of book cover and photograph measurement.
THIRD MEASUREMENT- Thickness Measurement
Measure the thickness of your book by placing your measuring tape at the outside edge of the front cover and measure to the outside edge of the back cover and photograph.
FOURTH MEASUREMENT- Wrap Around Measurement
Place tape measure at the back edge of your book cover when closed and wrap around to the front edge of cover, wrapping around the book spine and photograph measurement.
FIFTH MEASUREMENT- For Zipper Closure
Place tape measure at the top spine of your book when closed then wrap tape measure around the pages until it ends at the end of the spine on the underside of your book; being careful not to pull the tape measure too tightly. Then photograph the measurement.
